It was setup similar to a college course, in that there are graded assignments and a final grade that will determine which of two certificates you receive. There are stakes and merit for doing the work, which led to a real-world-esque project. It was not necessary to purchase anything, though if you do none of it is through ELVTR (at least it wasn't through this course). Great course, great company - will take classes with them again."

"Greeted with such humility and grace..if you are serious about writing comics, Comic Book Writing with Adam Beechen is the way to go. Talking about a team, not only was he funny and engaging but he took the time to be delicate with us, with our fears, doubts and misunderstandings. I started the class having the fear of stepping out of my comfort zone, reaching out to other creators, and airplanes, to now flying to California for an event in October, to meet a writer who've I've become oh so inspired by. There is no more fear that I have, instead I challenge it. That's what this class does. They speak with grace, and prepare you for what you will experience with full transparency, positioning you to grow with fullness. They don't run from fear but challenge it head on. The students were great and even when some weren't, which most of the class was unaware of, they addressed it with diligence and set the tone for the class. Most didn't know because we were all busy forming good relationships something they encouraged us to do...but if you want to become a writer and to grow in character just as a person...it's here...even from the staff on the phone to the progress manager, I might have got that wrong but everyone was wonderful. A line that will forever stick with me from Adam Beechen is "you gotta have perseverance...how bad do you really want it. And I ask you the same."

"I am writing a review for Elvtr’s COMIC BOOK WRITING COURSE. I took the course on a whim. I do not regret it. Adam Beechen taught it. The TA for the class was Scott Gray. Both individuals are seasoned writing professionals. Adam and Scott combined plethora of industry experience served to make the class exciting and enjoyable. The teacher Adam Beechen embodied a balanced set of helpfulness and professionalism during his lectures. Adam cared a lot about helping us learn core comic book-making concepts and career fundamentals in the industry. Scott provided keen insight, complementing Adam’s lessons during office hours. The Elvtr support team was helpful in the journey as well. They provided consistent support in class enrollment and during classes. It's useful for those who just start exploring AI and even for thouse who's been playing with it for a few years, because we all have different workflows and different approaches and technology is developing so fast that it's almost impossible to be up to date on all fronts. So any tips and tricks from people who use these tools daily - that's gold. But aside from just general overview of market today I think the best part of this course it's 200% hands-on.
